Classic Waffle Recipe
Here’s a small-batch waffle recipe for 6 waffles, designed to be crisp on the outside and fluffy inside.
🧇 Classic Buttermilk Waffles — 6 Waffles
Yield: 6 waffles
Serving: 1 waffle each
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 15–20 minutes
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 large eggs
1¾ cups buttermilk
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix—a few small lumps are fine.
Let the batter rest for 5 minutes.
Lightly grease the waffle iron if needed.
Pour approximately ½–¾ cup batter per waffle, depending on the size of your iron.
Cook until the waffle is golden brown and crisp, usually 3–5 minutes.
Place finished waffles on a wire rack rather than stacking them so they stay crisp.
